Anna // Week 12 Review

My project is located in Shieldfield, Newcastle – once an area of common land, then an area of industry dominated by pottery manufacturing. The central area of Shieldfield is now a social housing estate, which is slowly being closed in on by private student accommodation developments. The scenario begins when a community kiln is built in the area. Clay is used as an initial tool to engage with the community, when a clay workshop (building on the history of the area) is used to create plates displaying imagery designed to provoke conversation during a meal hosted at the forum café. Forestry and Wood Processing in the Borderlands Growth Deal: By Egger

The following information is taken from a publication by Egger (a global timber manufacturer) called ‘Forestry and wood processing in the Borderlands Growth Deal’. It talks about the incentive to increase the existing infrastructure and network across the timber manufacturing industry between Scotland and England at the borderlands.
